🇫🇷 [Paris] L'Amour, Les Baguettes, Paris

On my 2025 vision board, I had a specific bucket list item:

"Listen to Stella Jang’s L’Amour, Les Baguettes, Paris in Paris❤️🥖🇫🇷."

As my exchange program was coming to an end,

I finally made it there in late January for my very last trip.

I traveled to Paris alone to meet up with my friends.

Before meeting them, I had some time to myself,

so I went to see the Eiffel Tower.

By that point, I had seen so many European buildings that

I was starting to lose interest in the local architecture,

but the Eiffel Tower was absolutely stunning.

Even though it was raining,

Paris was exactly the "City of Romance" I had imagined.

I didn't have an umbrella, so I just threw on a cap and walked around,

but even that felt perfectly fine.

For dinner, we tried escargot, which is apparently a favorite among French grandfathers.

But for me, the onion soup was the real star—it was so yummy!

Later, when I got back home, I asked my dad to make some for me,

but it just wasn't the same. (Sorry, Dad! 😂)

We shared a "Cheers!" together as well. 👀🍷

Being typical Koreans, we started our day early.

Since we were in France,

we grabbed some croissants to eat on the street while heading for the bus.

Every view on the way to Versailles was beautiful.

Personally, I think Paris is the only city I've ever seen

that stays this beautiful day and night, even in the rain.

The last gentleman in the photos looks like a typical Parisian!

We also visited the Louvre.

I’m not usually a big fan of museums or art galleries,

but going with a guided tour made it so much fun.

We listened for four hours, and by the end, we all had "fish eyes" (totally drained),

which made the guide work even harder to keep us engaged!

Still, learning about the hidden stories

and the historical context behind the artworks was really interesting.

And of course, we went to Disneyland.

To be honest, I don’t really like amusement parks (I’m terrified of rides.. 🫣)

and I’ve never stayed until closing time.(because of my "stamina issues." 🫠 )

But this time, even though my feet were killing me,

the closing show was so moving that it made the whole trip worth it.

It was truly beautiful.

On the last day, I had to head back to the Netherlands early to pack my things,

so I left for the train station at dawn.

It was a bit scary since it was dark, but my bus passed by the Louvre.

Seeing the empty Louvre in the early morning light was just as beautiful as everything else.

To me, Paris is still a city overflowing with romance and nostalgia—and France is the same.

I couldn't see everything in such a short trip, but it’s definitely a city I want to visit again.

It seems like unexpected happiness always finds you when you least expect it.

So, maybe I should live life without expecting too much.

And that’s the end of my 4-day trip to Paris!
